Abhishek Banerjee, speaking at a press conference held at Trinamool Bhawan, accused the BJP of orchestrating the Sandeshkhali incident as a pre-planned attack on Bengal's image. He criticized the opposition party, stating, "The Sandeshkhali incident was completely prepared".

Banerjee also highlighted the media's selective coverage, claiming that while Sandeshkhali received extensive attention, Manipur's news was neglected. He further alleged a false rape complaint lodged and exposed a conspiracy aimed at defaming Bengal.

In response to the incident, Abhishek Banerjee issued an ultimatum to BJP leaders, demanding an apology to the people of Bengal within 48 hours.

He boldly asserted, "Even if I am jailed or hanged for speaking the truth, I don't feel sad." He asserted, "I don't bow down, that's why my wife and child are harassed at the airport." He accused the Governor of inappropriate behavior, stating, "The Governor molested a girl of my daughter's age and fled to Kerala the next day." Additionally, he denounced the BJP, labeling it a "fake party."
